On April 26, 2025, the Cavaglià Golf Club hosted the third edition of the Gran Galà Hickory, a unique and fascinating golf competition where time seems to have stopped. The participants played using original equipment dating back over a century and wearing period clothing, recalling with style and authenticity the atmosphere of golf in the early 1900s.
A real dive into the past, where tradition, elegance and sporting spirit merged into an engaging and evocative event.
After the 18 holes, the host Filippo Peretti Cucchi stood out above all others, taking first place gross, closing the course with four shots above par.
In the net ranking, the highest step on the podium went to the Venetian Agostino Stival (Golf Club Cà Amata) with 32 points, followed by Paolo Schellino, president of the G.C. Cavaglià, with 27 points, and Giuseppe Sprecacenere (G.C. Le Fronde), who scored 25 points.
The Gran Galà Hickory is part of the official circuit promoted by “Italia Hickory Golf”, an association chaired by Carlo Busto, from Turin, collector and historian of vintage golf, a reference figure in Italy for the promotion of this fascinating discipline.
An event that is not just sport, but also culture, passion and valorization of the history of golf.
